A Song Called Please

Silent nights, and sorrow filled days

As desperate cries for help go unanswered

The longing soul begins to question worth

Of life spent on earth

As world around falls away

And friends are nowhere to be found

Emptiness fills the mind, as soul contemplates

The ending of it all

And yet, amidst the darkness of

A lonely and a hurting mind

There still remains, a Light, a Love, much greater than

Anything the longing heart could want

As the soul begins to move

To bring an end to sorrowful days

A song is ringing, a cry is screaming

Out from Heaven’s gates

Stop! Please!

The cry rings out to shattered heart

But lo, it does not listen

She cannot hear the longing cry

For darkness has been let in, and

Is silencing any voice of Hope and

Is whispering its lies as

Broken heart begins to believe them

Again with fury and with passion cries

That Voice from Heaven once more

Please, please! Look to Me!

There still is hope, there still is purpose and

One who loves you more than world

I, who gave myself for you!

The shaking figure ceases but a moment

For a moment grazed by feeling that

She is not alone

Lies again, out of anger whisper and

Shout its poison once again, for fear that girl may

In fact believe this truth ringing from Heaven’s skies

Again she falls, and believes the darkness’ songs

As she again begins her shaky task of

Readying to make her end

PLEASE!

This time, with Voice like thunder cries

The desperate Lover from on High

Bidding her to see Him standing beside her

This time, she drops her weapon and

Turns to see who called her

As she, for a moment, meets His gaze

A tsunami of love engulfs her

She begins to walk towards Him

Feeling chains fall away

As desperate enemy claws and grabs at scars and mind

Begging her to finish the task

She fights the thoughts a moment longer

Walking closer to the Light

She sees, only a brief flicker but

Now has something to hold on to

No, no!

The enemy screams

A hope has been born inside her and

It cannot be easily quenched!

More, more!

He rallies the demons around him as

They make one last stand, to see her dead

And forever held in chains

The Light, too sees assembling force and yet

Makes no effort to assemble more

For He, in Himself, is enough

And has already defeated them

Yet now, the battle is

In the hands of shaking girl

Who must choose to run to life and Light or

Fall forever into darkness

Enemy begins his attack, whispering lies of despair and

Trying to quench the small hope inside

To see her fall to death

She turns, guided by her fear and sorrow and

This overwhelming feeling of despair,

Brought on by hellish captors and

She whispers to herself “I am too far gone now for any hope.”

Suddenly, she picks up weapon and

Lays finger gently on the trigger as

She readies for her final moment

She closes her eyes, shaking with gun to head

Head filled with thoughts, to get it over and

End this war of mind

Once and for all

Yet, something inside her,

That brilliant Hope, forces her eyes

To open for but a moment

In front of her, met eye to eye

Only inches from her face, is Figure, is Light

Standing right before her

In His eyes, what was seen, cannot be fully described

Only what was whispered through holy lips, in simplest syntax

That rocked her shattered world to break into Light

Please.

Suddenly her eyes grew heavy as

She fell to knees and wept with voice that

Can never be conveyed

She shook violently as

Arms of Love engulfed her and

Surrounded her, with fantastic Light

As He welcomed her home

The arms of Love, had always been opened

Outstretched towards her, from Calvary and Heaven

Belonging to a Loving Savior who

Gave Himself for her

But life and struggle had

Blinded her to His call

Till that night, when darkness tried

Once and for all to rob her from, Him who died for her

It was in that darkest place

When gun was fully loaded that

For the first time, she saw this Savior

Looking out at her

Calling her to Himself,

To freedom and to Life

Away from brutal captors who

Had left her empty and without hope

So now, this story

I cannot tell the end

But what happened, that night

As girl sat wrapped in loving arms, a perfect happy mess

Changed her, in ways, she never will forget

And now pushes her on, through whatever life may bring

For she knows, at darkest and

At moment before death

When blackness around is too heavy and

Hellish voices whisper lies

Edging on to death

She found, that night

That this Light, is not passive

It is not uncaring for her soul

For He came, and met her where she was

That night on kitchen floor

And stopped the flight, of bullet and

Gave her life, and hope, forevermore

And showed Himself, to that desperate soul

In need of touch and encounter from

This Loving and Living Savior

Who bears the glorious Name,

The Holy and the perfect name

Of that Savior, Jesus Christ

Who welcomed her home that night

With a simple, loving, desperate and passionate song

Simply titled please~

So devastating true in the feeling that there is no way, no hope, with the only answer being oblivion. You shine a light where few dare go…. thank you!
